FIRST ACCIDENT
200 persons (church goers and friends) were planning to explore Port Stephen and Nelson Bay.
It was a beautiful Saturday from all points of view.
Before joining the cruise, I thought of "visiting" the toilet just in case.
Unfortunately, I fell down on the concrete, motionless.
Luckily, a member of the group came in and notified the fall to the group head.
Right away the place was full of friends including women, may be for the first time in the history of Australia, thus making men "visit" irrelevant.
Fortunately, I was not booked for "Traffic jam"
I joked with them while suffering , quoting the famous Sayed Darwish song
"Fil bahr lam fotokom , fil bar fotouny" ( I did not disregard you at sea, but you neglected me on the mainland).
In brief, the ambulance was called by Dr. Refaat Bishay, transported me accompanied by my wife, to John Hunter Hospital, where the diagnosis was "Fracture of neck of right femur"
Operation was performed. Later I was transferred to Royal New Castle Hospital, for further treatment. I was discharged on the 4th December 1999
Feeling no progress after the operation, I consulted two specialists.
The first one asked for $3,000 fees and booked a place in the hospital.
The second asked for $25,000 fees and informed me that the new operation was risky. When I sought Professor Youssef Gabriel's opinion (Egyptian) , he advised me to do absolutely nothing, due to my advanced age.
Now, thanks to God, I am suffering patiently.
12th January 2000
We moved to 5/22 Girraween Rd. Girraween.
